To bring new and original studies in the field of Turcology to the scientific world.
Türkoloji Dergisiis a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year, in July and December, by the Department of Turkish Language and Literature of the Faculty of Language, History and Geography of Ankara University. In addition to these periodic issues of the journal, special issues may also be published. The journal includes original research and review articles prepared according to scientific methods and techniques in the field of Turkish Language and Literature.
Manuscripts to be sent to the journal should not have been previously published / sent elsewhere for publication. Papers and conference texts presented in symposiums or congresses can also be published in the journal, provided that they have not been published / sent elsewhere for publication and are made in accordance with the publication principles of the journal.
For the articles to be sent to the Türkoloji Dergisi, it is recommended to take the latest edition of the Spelling Guide published by the Turkish Language Institution as a basis.
1. Title: The title should be compatible with the content of the article and should be written in bold letters. In addition, the English translation of the title should be given before the English abstract.
2. Author name and address: During the evaluation process, the authors and referees are kept confidential from each other. Therefore, the articles uploaded to the system should not contain the author name and contact information. Since this information is already on the system, it is added to the article by the editor at the time of publication.
3. Abstract: At the beginning of the article, a Turkish abstract of 150-200 words at most and an English translation (absract) of this abstract, including the title of the article, should be given. In summary, reference should not be made to the sources, figure and table numbers. A minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 keywords should be given in both Turkish and English, leaving one blank line under the abstract.
4. Main Text: The texts should be written on A4 size papers, using MS Word word processor, with Times New Roman font, 12 pt, 1 (single) line spacing. There should be 3 cm margins on the margins and pages should not be numbered. Articles should not exceed 25 pages. Quotations should be given in italics and in quotation marks; Quotations less than five lines should be written between the lines, quotations longer than five lines should be written 1.5 cm from the right and left of the line, in blocks and with 1 line spacing.
5. Section Titles: Main, intermediate and sub-titles can be used in the article to cover the topic more regularly and the titles can be numbered when necessary. Main titles (main chapters, sources and appendices) in capital letters; intermediate and sub-titles should be written in bold letters with only the first letters capital. At the end of the subtitles, colon should be put on top of each other and continue on the same line.
6. Citing: Footnotes should be used only for explanation and explanations should be given at the end of the text. References in the text should be written in parentheses as shown below:
(Eren 1999); (Caferoğlu 1984: 15)
In publications with more than one author, only the name of the first author in the text. should be written:
(Ercilasun et al. 2007). Other authors should be mentioned in the references section.
If the name of the cited author is given in the text, only the publication date of the source should be written:
"Çetin (1997: 131), on this subject…."
In works and manuscripts without a publication date, only the names of the authors; encyclopedia with unspecified author, etc. In the works, the title of the work should be written.
In quotations from the second source, the original source should also be indicated: "Hacıeminoğlu (1991) ....." (from Akalın 1988).
7. Bibliography: At the end of the article, it should be written alphabetically according to the surname of the authors as follows. References should be listed according to the publication date when an author has more than one publication; If there is more than one publication by an author published in the same year, these publications should be shown as (2000a, 2000b).

Türkoloji Dergisi, as a journal that is aware of the need for easy access to information in order to advance scientific studies, supports the initiative of open access to the peer-reviewed journal literature included in the Budapest Open Access Declaration and offers all published articles free of charge in an environment that everyone can read and download. In this declaration, open access means that "scientific literature can be accessed, read, recorded, copied, printed, scanned, linked to full text, indexed, transferred to the software as data and used for any legal purpose, without financial, legal and technical barriers via the Internet" It was used to mean. Given the role of knowledge sharing in the advancement of science, open access is of paramount importance to researchers and readers. Therefore, the articles in this journal can be used as long as the author and original source are cited. No permission is required from the authors or publishers. Articles in this journal are available across search engines, websites, blogs, and other digital platforms.

ETHICS POLICY
It is aimed that all stakeholders (author, editor, referee, publisher and reader) who produce a scientific study contribute to the progress of science correctly. Compliance with scientific ethical principles is important in scientific studies prepared in accordance with this goal.
These ethical principles have been accepted by us on the basis of the directive prepared by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and are presented below, with some of them recommending them to be adopted by the stakeholders.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
To be sure of the accuracy of the data related to the study, to keep the records of the research in order and to be able to give access to these data upon possible request
Make sure that the article you submit has not been published or accepted elsewhere.
Accept this conflict and cite if the content it presents matches with the published or presented content, if necessary, provide the editor with a copy of any work that may contain similar content, obtain permission to reproduce or use any content from other sources, citation.
Ensure that all work involving human or animal subjects comply with national and international laws and guidelines (for example, WMA Declaration of Helsinki, NIH Policy on the Use of Laboratory Animals, EU Directive on the Use of Animals), confirming the necessary approvals, respect subject privacy. To indicate the ethical committee approvals and research details regarding the study in the "Materials and Methods" section of the study.
In the event of any conflict of interest, to share this with the editor and publisher when it detects an ethical violation related to the article, to publish an error statement, addendum, indemnity notice, or withdraw the work when deemed necessary
Editors' Ethical Duties and Responsibilities
To act in a balanced, objective and fair manner in the performance of their duties without discrimination on gender, religious or political beliefs, authors' ethnic or geographical origin.
To evaluate the articles submitted to the journal according to their content, not to show any privileges to any author.
To take necessary measures to prevent potential conflicts of interest and to evaluate existing statements, if any.
To treat sponsored studies or studies on special topics in the same way as other studies,
In case of a complaint of ethical violation, to follow the necessary procedures by adhering to the journal's policies and procedures. To give the authors an opportunity to respond to the complaint and not to avoid applying the necessary sanctions regardless of who the work belongs to

Ethical Responsibilities of Referees
To review the article objectively in a timely manner in order to contribute to the editor's decision-making process and to agree to evaluate only the studies related to the area of expertise.
To make the evaluation objectively only in relation to the content of the study. To evaluate working without considering religious, political and economic interests.
To provide guidance that will help to increase the quality of the article to be published and to examine the work meticulously To convey your comments to the author in a constructive and courteous language.
To protect the confidentiality of the information provided by the editor and the author, to destroy the study after the evaluation process due to the principle of confidentiality, to notify the editor if there is a situation against blind refereeing and not to evaluate the work.
To be aware of potential conflicts of interest (financial, institutional, collaborative, or other relationships between author and author) and, if necessary, to alert the editor to withdraw their assistance for this article.
Publisher's Ethical Responsibilities
Among the stakeholders involved in a scientific study, the publisher must act within the scope of all these ethical principles.
The publisher is obliged to use its communication power without any individual benefit and to direct its target audience correctly.
It protects the property and copyright of every published work and undertakes the duty of archiving every published product.
People should not hesitate to contact the publisher when faced with an unethical situation.
Some of the actions considered to be against scientific research and publication ethics:
Plagiarism: Showing others' original ideas, methods, data or works as their own work, partially or completely, without reference to scientific rules,
Fraud: Using data that does not actually exist or has been falsified in scientific research
Distortion: Falsifying the research records or the data obtained, showing the devices or materials not used in the research as being used, distorting or shaping the research results in line with the interests of the people and organizations from which the support was obtained
Republishing: To present repetitive publications as separate publications in academic appointments and promotions,
Slicing: Dividing the results of a research into pieces in a way that disrupts the integrity of the research and inappropriately and publishing in more than one issue and presenting these publications as separate publications in academic appointments and promotions,
Unfair authorship: Including non-active contributors among the authors or not including those who are, changing the author's order in an unjustified and inappropriate manner, removing the names of those with active contributors from the work in subsequent editions, using their influence to include their names among the authors, even though they have no active contribution,
Not specifying the persons, institutions or organizations and their contributions in the publications made as a result of researches conducted with the support,
Using theses or studies that have not yet been submitted or accepted as a source without the permission of the owner,
Failing to comply with ethical rules in research conducted on humans and animals, not respecting patient rights in their publications, harming animal health and ecological balance, not obtaining necessary permissions,
Misusing resources, spaces, facilities and devices provided or allocated for scientific research,
To make false or misleading statements regarding scientific research and publications in academic appointments and promotions.
PLACEMENT POLICY
Plagiarism (plagiarism) is an ethical violation, regardless of whether it is intent or not. It is unethical and unacceptable if the studies are similar to other sources, without reference, and that they are published as such.
The Editorial Board can act in accordance with COPE rules against allegations and suspicions of plagiarism, citation manipulation and data fraud related to the articles submitted to the journal.
COPYRIGHT TRANSFER
Studies submitted to our Journal for publication must have the quality of original work that has not been published in any way before or sent to be published elsewhere. When submitting their work, individuals are obliged to declare that the work has not been published on any other platform before, in whole or in part, and that they have not evaluated for publication. In case of a contrary situation, the author will be held responsible in accordance with the relevant sanctions.
Authors agree to waive the copyright of their work, and must transfer the copyright of their work to the INSTITUTION together with the submission for evaluation. This transfer becomes binding upon the acceptance of the article for publication. No part of the printed material can be used elsewhere without the written permission of the publisher.
The publication processes of the journal are the International Medical Journals Editorial Board (ICMJE), the World Medical Editors Association (WAME), the Scientific Editors Council (CSE), the Publication Ethics Board (COPE), the European Science Editors Association (EASE) and the National Information Standards organization (NISO). It is executed in accordance with the guidelines.
The authors; All unregistered rights other than patents, copyrights, the right to reproduce the work for their own purposes provided that they do not sell the work, the right to use all or part of the work in the author's own books and other academic works, provided that the source is indicated, on personal websites provided that the work name is specified or the university reserves its rights, such as the right to keep it in its open archive.
Authors must obtain permission from the copyright holder when using previously published content, including ancillary images, tables or any other content in print or electronic format. The legal, financial and criminal responsibility in this matter belongs to the authors.
Authors who will submit a study to our journal must fill in the "Copyright Transfer and Conflict of Interest Declaration Form" document. The author (s) must sign the filled form with a wet signature. The signed form must first be scanned and sent to the Journal by e-mail at the first application and then by mail.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Situations that provide economic or personal benefits create a conflict of interest. Reliability of scientific process and published articles; It is directly related to objectively handling conflicts of interest during the planning, implementation, writing, evaluation, editing and publication of the scientific study.
Financial relationships are the most easily identifiable conflicts of interest, and it is inevitable to damage the credibility of the journal, authors and science. These conflicts can be caused by individual relationships, academic competition, or intellectual approaches. Authors are responsible for restricting access to all data of the study or analyzing, interpreting, preparing articles, publishing, etc. As far as possible, it should avoid entering into agreements with sponsors, both for-profit and non-profit, that interfere with their abilities.
In order to avoid conflicts of interest, editors should also avoid bringing together people who may have any relationship during the evaluation of the work. The editors who make the final decision about the articles should also have no personal, professional or financial ties with any of the topics they will decide on. Individuals should inform the editorial board of possible conflicts of interest so that articles can be evaluated within the framework of ethical principles and an independent process can be carried out.
Our editorial board works devotedly to ensure that the evaluation process is carried out in an impartial manner, considering all these situations.
